So I'm looking to upgrade the system and I was wanting to know if you can put 6 3/4 in the doors? I have an p2 gt non bose. I'm having a shop do it but it don't want to get those speaker's if they aren't going to work. What's needed to get them to fit?

they will fit but you will need to dremel the factory location mount. I actually upgraded my mids in the doors to alpine type s series.

So it's nothing huge that an audio shop couldn't handle?

Do I need an adapter plate or can I use the one already in the door? Thinking of doing it myself

if you can get the speaker to fit inside it, you can drill small pilot holes and screw directly into the plastic. I suggest pilot holes to prevent cracking the plastic.
