I personally have used infinity kappa components in the past, but infinity kappa's(short of their subs) have no bass. Excellent clarity, but no bass. What can I put in here that has decent bass(for a stock system.) Is this where the factory infinity comes in?
    If you want better sound...

Find a good quality head unit. The 9887 isn't bad and you can find them used for 200 to 250. Personally, after installing the 9887 and "tuning" a bit majority of my passengers thought I had replaced all the speakers.

Then, grab some polk db651's for ~$65 or some Phoenix Gold RSD's for about the same price. It will sound much better. 6x9's = trash. They are not able to reproduce sounds accurately since they have an issue with linear response directly related to their shape and inability to recover quickly.

I'm definitely not a fan of infinity. I believe their products to be harsh sounding. Well, all around I think their speakers are trash. Personal opinion, but if you train your ear you'll start to feel the same way too.

One of mine are blown.....I disconnected it for now. Less bass, but it is much clearer until I get a replacement. Maybe I will check out JBL GTO series........are there any differences in model's if I were to use them for our cars(three different 6X9's that I found) I understand that they may have different tweeters, but that doesn't matter as they are only used for bass in our cars(as far as I know) Thanks..........opinions on these speakers please or on others that I should replace them with in the factory locations/sizes.
