So I have a 2008 GP Base with no OnStar and no Monsoon, but I do have steering wheel controls. So I decided I wanted an aftermarket radio, So I bought me one (Boss Audio BV9366B) and I bought me the GMOS-1 wiring harness and a buddy gave me ASWC-1 kit. So I wired it all up the other day and I'm pretty sure all my wiring is correct (Hope it is cuz I soldered them) and so I go to plug it into my car and when I turn the key, nothing. There is no power going to the radio.
My buddy tells me that I need to run a separate wire from the fuse box to the radio for power. Is this true? If so which wire have you guys tapped into and to which wire does it go to(red or yellow)? Thanks in advance and I did try to google this but I either didn't find much or it didn't make sense to me, so if someone could explain this I would be grateful.
Also I don't have any subs hooked up yet, that's to come at a later time.
