I will be installing a rear view camera, and I want it to have power whenever the car is on (not just when in reverse.

Any suggestions on where to wire it?

Anywhere that has 12v when key on.

So any of the IGN fuses, radio fuse etc. Just buy an add-a-circuit to make it easy, no splicing wires needed.

Add a circuit will give you power all the time, even when the key off. I even went ahead and tried it. The camera to the add a circuit is always powered on, even with the car off and the radio off.

Not if it's on a switched 12v source. Shouldn't anyway.

I power all my aftermarket gauges with add-a-circuits. I always use the radio fuse and IGM fuses, they never stay on when the key is removed.

Perhaps something was wrong with my stereo fuse. I tried the moonroof one and it worked. Thanks for your help!

Be sure the camera is rated for continuous on.....many BU cameras are only rated to run <5 mins at a time and will fail quickly of left on continuously. My BU camera had this specific warning in the installation manual, stating that it would fail if wired to constant ignition power.

As mentioned, be carefull with the constant 12v. Here is 12v when ignition on off the "radio" fuse....

I mean "continuously" when you are driving even if the power is ignition switched 12v
