Does it light up red? Either way, it looks awesome.

On another note, I came across the aftermarket Blaupunkt that the PO had installed tonight. Never used it, immediately switched in the stocker which he was nice enough to keep in the trunk for me upon purchase. Also removed the pillar mount and boost gauge but kind of feel like reinstalling the latter.

Yours has the lettering below the stereo, I kind of prefer that. Will have to check that box when I order, thanks!

No. I went with the "non-lit" version. You can easily stick an LED strip to it if you change your mind.

I believe you can choose the location of the lettering.

Thanks, got one in the cart at like 98 bucks, not sure yet about top or bottom, they both look awesome, just thinking of what I'd prefer in my own car at this point

So,it's been a while, but I did replace the sticker with the Pioneer one recommended here.

Only problem now is that the speakers cant seem to handle what the stereo puts out.

Is this really that much more powerful? I guess upgraded speakers are in my future.

Note that the HUmount also has the line/small border and "Pontiac" above the radio as an option.

Stocks are pretty bad in these cars TBH. I used Alpine type S front and rear and it was perfect for what I needed. Hell I kept the rears and am using them in the GXP until I can get something better. If you don't plan on using an amp, a good set of rear 6x9 should cost you 115-140ish.

The HUmounts don't cover '04-'08 qq

alight, cool, thanks. I guess I'll need a set or rears, fronts and the small ones near the mirrors.

You won't find a set with Tweeters cheap. Normally you just unplug them and hide the wire.

Are the tweeters the ones near the mirrors? I would prefer to not unplug and to spend the cash instead.

Yeah, most door speakers come with a tweeter built in and remove the upper door tweeter. You're options for actual tweeters up there are limited. For good quality you're looking at 80 for just tweeter.

Its all good. If yours aren't chirping yet, you can always use em still and see how they sound. Remember an aftermarket head pushes more power than the factory one in most scenarios so cheap factory speakers tend to go bad or show that they are bad quickly.

I went all alpine on the '99, type S front and rear with an alpine deck. I listen to mostly EDM and Rap with some Metal mixed in and I never needed subs.

I think I will see how the tweeters do. No problems thus far. The rears seem ok too, but the ones in the door near the bottom are sounding rough, especially with bass. I'm a huge Beastie Boys fan and Paul's Boutique is just ruined with those speakers.

If you have the funds change both while you're at it. The job is fairly easy, just time consuming. The difference is unbelievable.

Where do you get the mounting kit that says Grand Prix? I've seen a few but can't find them.

Be careful with it. The website only has it for the 97-03 unless someone can confirm it works on 04+

04 is double din. Much more of a standard size and thus more options. There is actually enough room to add a shelf for example.
