Im really disapointed with the afermarket support for the cars with the LS4 motors. I have already started pestering supercharger companys about what it would take for that. But please guys let me knwo what u want for OUR cars. Im willing to do some foot work. But we have to show these companys that there is a reason to buythere products. SO please list anything u want for our cars. If we work together we can get a larger aftermarket suport.

Ya i saw that. Personally i want more exhaust support, and grill options for the gxps. since we have different front bumpers. I want a true ram air kit using the Inferno hood. they talked about it when it was first created.

    Panther,

I am with you on the grill options. I almost picked up some stuff and then realized that the regular GP stuff won't fit on the GXP's. I have the dark slate color and I would love to try and find a different color option for the side plastic inserts on the front fenders. I was really thinking about the same red color as the brake calipers. Not sure how that would look. Another friend thought getting the same color as the car would be pretty intersting as well.

No somehow SS slipped my mind. I would love to have a matcing. Upper, lower, grills and the side grills. And Inferno hood grill inserts. Wish the economy was a little better. Alot of the companys are afraid of making stuff. Grill should be easy. since there cheaper tomake and sell.

Because LS engine support already exists, I'd be most interested in transmission upgrade options and suspension mods that help keep the tires planted during acceleration.

That said, I'd be interested in 3 things:
    1) Intake Manifolds (since ours point the wrong way)
    2) DOD and Aggressive Cam Compatible Lifters
    3) An Exhaust with Spring-Loaded Butterfly Valve for Quiet Cruising and Loud Acceleration (Used on the Corvette)

So I've been researching DOD, and I think the best currently available solution for a cam would be a custom grind with the same lift, maybe a little more, and more duration. You could then move the LDA smaller to get the thing to lope or spread it out to keep the same fuel economy and braking performance. A little bit stiffer spring would be necessary to keep the valves from floating, but that shouldn't harm the lifters.

The LS6 heads on this beast are fine, and good for 400HP on the 6.0L, so I'm thinking a port and polish is a better route than aftermarket heads. And cheaper.

That leaves the intake, which is the weak sister in this whole thing. I looked past the throttle body, and I saw a very large obstruction. A little digging, and it seems this lump has to do with the oiling system of the DOD. So I'm thinking that the throttle body needs to be moved up, which would leave a larger plenum. Problem is, the torque minded intake runners are on the top of this thing. I found a stock replacement intake for $120, and since it is plastic I may buy one when I finish paying off my 17's and Dunlop Graspic snow tires (they weren't lying when they said the tires aren't any good below 40 degrees...) and try my hand making a custom intake using some tubing and fiber glass. Hopefully someone makes an aftermarket intake before I embarrass myself and ruin a perfectly good intake manifold...

Yeah Panther, this is my daily driver and I love driving it daily and terrorizing highway on ramps. 20.4 MPG lifetime fuel economy. My old Buick Ultra only got 18 MPG and I drove it the same way, at least in a straight line.

Which 17 did u go with. And how much clearance do u have between the brakes and wheels. I NEED winter tires and wheels. and That was the same idea i had. To go with 17 inch wheels. cost a little more up front but tires are alot cheaper. The intake is are biggest problem no doubt. i think ill make a call to F.A.S.T since they make the intakes for the other LSX cars, Maybe they can help us.

hey guys, new to the forum...i have and 08 gxp....someone help...i cant get anything from these guys with the v6's....and no one knows where to go to for LS4 stuff....its simply not made...as you guys said...It seem we are limited to down pipes, PCM modules...which JET has a great one...and mass air flow sensor, and intake....and of course the exhaust....i would love to see more support for the pulley system, cam, rockers, throttle body spacing and strut stabalizers.....the most annoying thing about this car is that if you put it into a search engine for anything....you dont get any results...I do have a cool mesh idea for your guys's bottom fascia inlets under your turng signals...

Alot of the LSx stuff can work with our cars. there is a cam swap on another forum. Found out our cams are a little different. Something about how the mounting for the cam gear. I really want mesh for our grills. Go to pfyc.com. U can get some parts on there. That web site also has the one turbo setup for our car. I looked over there install manual and am very disapointed in the quality of the install. stuff was rubbing and the such. fine for a home grown setup not for a 5400 dollar kit.

you have a motor based off of Vettes, Camaros, Trans Ams...... anything that is being donw to them, can be done to yours.

    Rockers.... Cams...... heads........etc.

do you want to use NA? Nitrous? SC? Turbo?

So i called FAST and eldebrock today. They dont have anything specifically or plan anything for our cars. I think we will just have to go the old fashion way of hot rodding trying out parts and making them work. The guy at fast says he needs to sell atleast 2200-2500 intakes just to cover R&D.

im checking with Power Aid AIR AID TBS....to get an answer for the spacer fitting our car...just give it time...we will have a demand before too long....these cars are just so expensive and in the wrong class to be sold as expensive cars...let them get some mileage on them and some years....we get there...until then...we can only keep things tuned up and pcm.....and get things as they come at us...i was even looking at COMP+CAMs pulley tensioner..they make it for all LS applications except trucks but it listed everything like LS1, 3, 6, and 7....nothing about the LS4 though...so im wondering if we fit in the category of trucks...lmao....go to JEGS and put the GXP in the vehicle section....take a look and get back to me...

The pulley system is closer to the trucks than the cars system. However the motors in the trucks used a 2 belt system , where ours have a single belt system. There is just all the wrong variables. I found a webpage discussing all the various changes made to create the LS4, The heads are very close to a LS6 head. Not sure exactally how close.
