So I'm guessing what blueguy and turbo are saying there is not enough room on the pass side of the engine bay to accommodate the belt drive for the sc... right? Tube chassis would be nice but sounds like a lot of work. I don't really like the n* motor. I did like the one in the sts-v but i don't think that would mate to my trans for one thing and wiring would b a nightmare I think. The motor just needs to sit about 2 inches more towards drivers side wheel well correct?
Just turbo the 3800.
Get a transmission that can hold it.
Quit making it complicated.
Agree'd but what do you think is going to take more beating a 4t6fail with a 500hp setup strapped to it or my 330whp with me behind the wheel?
Err on second thought don't answer this.............
Ideally I would like to find a good way to put in the 6 speed f40 but i don't know near enough about transmissions or computer programming to make that happen. My tranny guy said he could get anything. I laughed. He said seriously. I said ok gmr 1 inch gearset. He said he would call me. That was 4 months ago.
Probably because the 1" setup wouldn't work with an F40 six speed?
And there are people here that have them...if you're willing to fork over a grand or more for one.
I know I was asking him for the 4t65e-hd. I would gladly pay 1000 for a gmr 1 inch gearset. If anybody here has one I have cash.
They will fetch more than 1k for a 1inch chain.
And if someone is serious about a straight cut dog box manual trans its do able the fiero nerds have put Honda transmissions on those and they make an adapter plate for them. Now question is how much would a ppg dog box trans and everything cost to make it fit a 3800.
Easily the route id take if I were to attempt a manual swap. On the plus side the Honda bastards have a gigantic aftermarket too plus a ton of forums to troll for parts.
ppg dog box and turbo 3800 would be match made in heaven. Plus they make an ass ton of gear ratios for them too.
Ive trolled and envied the Honda community for a long long time. Makes me jelly the aftermarket support they have.
Have u ever seen one in a grand prix? Is it a direct bolt on to the 3800?

Im not sure how different the bellhousing is but id use a rsx 6 speed stuffed full of ppg gears since those are way way easier to find.
3800 and w-bodies are dying.
Why not head over to the f-body world? Dumping money there actually seems more satisfying with its returns.
Do a nice daily with the GP (1.9, 3.4, headers, tune), let it rust to pieces. Then buy an F-body, or 3rd gen or anything with an LS, a manual and RWD, you will just be much happier and nothing saying you have to use to cookie cutter stuff, you can do whatever you want to break the mold if that is what you are after.
we make 600+ whp and have about 7k into the trans.
from what i recall those dog box transaxles can go for nearly the same
i saw a sweet pro stocker roller chassis on racing junk not long ago for 6k that you could save a ton of money and do your sc LSx setup but with a far cheaper and reliable RWD trans/chassis.
Really piss off the world. Buy F-body, drop in Windsor 302...or better yet, the V10 from the Ford vans.
foxbody roller, Turbocharged 3800/th400 or powerglide
Sounds like pretty good advice (huffing and puffing all over the house). I have always wanted a ws6. Just always like the GPS cause I can find them so cheap and k was fairly familiar w the platform. Took my first one apart at 17 so I guess it's been a love of familiarity.
