Well if u get a Diablo buy it from Lew. He will give u all the tuning u need. And for a tune it's almost as good as HPT. If u ever do mods or headers or anything he'll retune for free

Yea. I would obviously have the rear o2 deleted when I got my tune , but $300 for an intake, $250 for DP, just seems like a horrible HP per $ deal.. considering id get 35 whp with headers alone on a ls1 for $450.. I know its apples to oranges. But seeing as how I'm just trying to her as much as I can out of a tune on a stock car with a few bolt ons its not worth it. Even headers alone I hear are near worthless without a ls1/ ls6 intake and a cam.
Is there someway to just add a cone filter to the maf like I did on my 06 GT? I don't really want a fender well intake as that's where I'm thinking about mounting the trans cooler , and pulling heat in off that would be pointless lol.
Also how much does diablew charge? I'm looking towards a full hpt tune, but am also lookin at options.
And what transgo kit should I be getting ? I'm trying to get ahold of intense to order the poly mounts, filter and shift kit but no luck the past few days.
I talked to intense and he just made me aware that with adding a shift kit , and a tune, with bumping up line pressure and changing how the trans shifts + ( he was much more technical when explaining it ) to just be careful not to overwork the trans.
So I I'm getting a tune which involves changing how the transmission acts. Should/ would I still want a shift kit?
It will be fine, Just know that the shift kit comes first. tune later, This is also we have a scanner now so we can monitor how much line pressure is actually happening afterwards. The biggest thing to help out though is delaying TQ converter lockup till 3rd gear and tweaking the pressure table so that TCC lockup is instant, keeps the kevlar lining alive alot longer.
thanks again man.. coolant flush done, engine cleaning done, seafoam done, next is trans work.. Car runs great, no visible oil consumption, even at 170k, after about 600 miles or so. But had to run against the trans am... GP didnt do well, but that was expected :)
Is there anything different on the 4t65 shift kits>? I remember seeing something about a tiptronic trans not working with certain kits??
ABout the tune.. Im just curious how much people usually pay for one.. I mean I know what a true dyno tune, and a street tune cost on built cars, but for a basically bone stock car I keep hearing IM getting raped for 5 bills on a stock tune.. which I agree with to a point, but up here I dont have many other options
U are being raped. I'd say 300 max

Ok. I'll check around here and ls1tech and sew if I have any other options close by.
