I am getting a code for a bad 02 sensor. Is the bank 1 sensor 2 on the rear manifold? Has anyone changed this out? Is it a pain to get to? I cannot remeber the OBDII code off the top of my head.

bank one o2 is the one in the rear manifold, bank 2 is post cat.
post the code, if it could be a vac leak, not a o2.
if it is the o2, you need a o2 socket to remove it.
sensor one is in the rear manifold. its easy to get out with a o2 socket.
get it scanned first again. lets make your of what your working with.
o2 sensors are much cheaper on line, like @ rock auto. so try not to buy one local. shop around get some local prices.
Same applies to all grand prixs/wbody....bank 1 sensor one rear manifold. Bank 1 sensor 2 post cat 02 sensor.
The V8 does not have dual upstream 02 sensor
Yes these errors are on a GXP. I re-scanned the car today and got P0036, P0054, and P0141. A new code of P0300 just showed up as well but I am guessing it it related the other 3.

Thanks guys. I will get that o2 sensor in and see if I can reach the rear plugs.

i used the o2 socket got it from HF for like 8 bucks. then used 2, 6 inch extensions and a short pipe on my ratchet. this got me just over the sc on my 3800. i know your engine is bigger but if you look back there im sure you'll see it. maybe more or less extensions.
i didnt rock the engine forward either.
Has anyone got this sensor off before? The tool that I borrowed is too short to extend past the u-pipe. I have a wobble on there right now and still cannot get it to bite. Is there a longer o2 sensor socket out there?

Was it a stubby 7/8" wrench or full length. I tried to wedge a full size one up there but no luck.

if youre losing to much daylight spray some wd40 on the DP bolts 2x14MM and pull the exhaust down.
I got it. Regular length 7/8" angled just like you said. I attempted to pb blast the dp bolts but would not budge. Whew glad that's over with. Again thanks for all the help.
