I am relatively new to working on cars and applying mods, as well as forums. I have an 07 grand prix Gxp. I have put a magnaflow catback exhaust, k&n cold air intake, 90 amp alternator, yellow top optima battery, Bosch Iridium platinum fusion spark plugs 4509, msd super conductor wires on my car. I have a sound system, advanced million color led kit underbody, inside, and fender well kit, and lots of Hids which is why I got the alternator and battery. I have diablo trinity, which I am not sure how to use or tune as well. I am trying to mod my car for performance as much as I can, but i need help and advice. I have read about headers, cam, rockers, tuning, maf, tranny cooler, among many other things. I was wanting more info on doing these mods and others and what i should do for best performance and the order I should do them in, because it will not be done all at once. Also, advice on spark plugs, I was told to use the NGK 61X, but online it says they are not for my car. I haven't had any problems out of the Bosch plugs mentioned earlier though.
    Thanks

GXP first mods you should do is trans pan drop, shift kit, tune, trans cooler.
Also I wanna see these HIDs and LEDs you have....

What is the trans pan drop, do you mean flushing the trans? Ill look into the shift kit. Can the tune be done with my diablo trinity? And I am looking at a tans cooler right now. http://shop.tripleedgeperformance.co...CoolerKit1.htm . Is this a good one, and is that a decent price for one? I will take some pictures and post them of my light kit and my HID's. I also have the Halo headlights!!!

The pan drop is when you remove the trans pan, replace the filter, and add new fluid. Usually recommend every 50k miles or less depending how the fluid looks. Transgo/thrasher are good shift kits, and for the tuner I have no idea other guys will have to chime im. As for that trans cooler, I don't own a GXP or bought that specific cooler. Someone did do a write up on installing it tho iirc.

Couple of things..You realize your stock alternator is 135 amps? HID's sound systems, will work great on a stock system. If you bought this diablo trinity it'd do you some good to sit down with the tuning manual they offer and understand a little more before you make some changes, i definatley advocate firmer trans settings and increase fan percentage
    06 GXP | 222/227 cam/cartuning turbo kit on 8psi/meth/e85 coilovers/ still on stock trans at 130k

I think it was a 90 amp alternator I put in. My battery kept dying and my alternator was messing up. They said they gave me a higher amp alternator, that was a while ago, I might be wrong on the amps, maybe my alternator was just bad. Ill try to pull up the manual for the trinity if it even came with one. It has been sitting in the garage for a while.

    Should be this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transgo-Shif...6e747b&vxp=mtr

Also look online for a manual, faster than searching to see if you do or dont have it

What about spark plugs? And is there a special transmission fluid I should use? And any special coolant for the radiator, I'm about to flush the radiator. Are there any mods I should do to the radiator or for engine oil temp?

Flush the rad and run green coolant, and dex III or VI for trans fluid dex VI is a better fluid and thats what I just put in my moms car it was like 5.99 a quart at napa and you will need 8 quarts. When you get a new filter make sure it has the rubber coated metal gasket not a cork one for the trans pan.

I had to have the alternator rebuilt as my mechanic could not locate one for it. He did state that it was a higher amp alternator. 135 like 91parkave said.
Trans Cooler is def a must. Not sure how your driving style is but the shift kit and cooler so help to extend transmission life.

I ordered the trans cooler and the shift kit today and cleaned and recharged my k&n air filter. Ill install those in a couple weeks as well as a radiator flush and trans flush. Now im just trting to decide on spark plugs and anything else i should do. And what all needs to be done as far as a full tune up.

If you mean by trans flush just dropping the pan and replacing filter, fluid, gasket and not an actual flush then everything sounds good.

I would advise against that unless its been routinely done.

I would just stick with a pan drop.
