Its been in the negatives here in michigan for the past 2-3 days. This only happens on the way home from work at night. But I will be driving down 94 at 40-50 because of the snow/ice and i hear the DOD kick on. I'll drive for some time like this. When I try to accelerate it sounds like i'm misfiring and it won't gain speed. Code came on PO301 (cylinder 1). It feels like the car gets stuck in DOD mode. Car operates normally any other time.

Could it be because of the weather? Vehicle had a tune up in October.

Well, if you know its a cylinder 1 misfire, then start to diag the issue.

Pull the plug, check the condition, check for a crack. Inspect the wire.

Swap the coil with cylinder 3 or cylinder 5 on that same bank and see if the misfire follows. If it does, you know the coil is bad. Same can be done for wires and spark plugs.

Could be your plug is covered in oil and isn't firing at all below certain temps.
