I just bought my gxp about 2 weeks ago and today I noticed a problem. It has the wrong size tires on the front, it has 225/45-18 instead of the 255's. If I have it figured right that's a full inch dia difference. I plan on calling the dealership but I'm leaving for vacation in the morning, about 450 miles from central PA to North Carolina (OBX).

Is this going to be ok or should I be worried?

I don't see an issue right now, it won't hurt anything to drive on them untill you get back and get ahold of the dealership.

Are the rear tires the same size or different?

The car is actually suppose to have 245/50/18 in the front and 245/45/18 in the rear. Unless the previos owner changed all the wheels to the same size.

    Re-read your door sticker.

255/45/18 fronts and 225/50/18 rears are factory tire sizes.

Yeah that's what my sticker has.....when we first looked at the car my wife thought the front tires looked odd but I misread the sticker or the tire and thought they were right. I hate it when she's right....

What's the popular opinion on what size tires to run. The same the whole way around? stock? or some other sizes?

I don't even own a GXP, I just know more about them than the avg bloke on the streets.

I'm just giving the correct information, because someone else might see this thread and wonder the same thing as the OP, and they too will find that what we have said is correct.

I am not picking on anyone nor did I want you to cry because of the internet man making you wrong.

I felt my respones my fine, no criticism in it.

you can run 245 all around of you choose. If i was keeping the car stock and didnt throw the car around alot i would say 245 is fine all around (i know Fivefinger is happy i said that. lol) However for those of us who like to get aggresive with the car go 255 or bigger (up to 275's) up front rear is your choice but i wouldnt go over 245 in the rear. i cant confirm if 255's will work all the way around though.
