My wife has not blown up 07 GXP yet. Although I have to ask the odds of it happening being the fact she is a great grand mother, who has never had a ticket, not even a parking one. Although she is a good person, when I use the adjective great, I mean shes old.I could say it was driven by a little old lady to church on Sundays, except we drive my car.
The bad thing about these cars being fuel injected and and not carburetor, I don't have the excuse of taking it on the highway and blowing the soot out, like my dad use to do with my mom's 60 impala. I always made sure he took me with him.![]()

Theres alot of issues in stock form for these transmissions but im a firm believer in preventative maintenance. You get the tune. You disable tc lockul till 4th gear increase line pressure and tcc duty cycle. Get a shift kit and cooler. And you have youreself a trans that can at least go way longer.

I feel like I saw this somewhere but can't find it now... Does anybody with a GXP run dual alts? A buddy of mine wants to do it and had no idea where to stuff the other one.

First of all the hell with 2 alts have the stocker rebuilt for 180 amp. Bigger stator in stock housing save the drama of making sh1t fit.
Second of all FVCK all that bajillion batteries nonsense! Buy a 2 Xtatic Batcaps and call it a day. If you don't know what a Batcap is I suggest you google it and in the long run Im pretty sure 2 Xtatic Batcaps would cost less than 5 or 6 batteries anyways.
Also the Batcaps eliminate the need for farad capacitors which me personally I think are junk for any system over 2k watts.

Yeah because one 180 alt and one or two batt caps will be enough to power a 12,000 watt system.
All I asked is if someone ran dual alts because I thought I remembered seeing it and couldn't find it that's all I care to Know
How much power will he be running? I currently run stock alt, 2 runs 00awg and 2 xs power xp3000's. on a sundown 2500 and no drop. ask me anything. And for the dual alt good luck with placement. you would have to kill power steering or ac to get it to fit. Ive never seen it done so most liky will need custom fab, not to mention the pcm controlling them
