Re: GXP owner list only(GXP home grown style )
Just a general question, so today changing my oil, come to find I burned 3qts of oil in 3k miles. Not good. Really stamped the need to disable DoD. My car currently has just under 60k miles. I have a buddy with HP Tuners and going to get it disabled.
When he does this, is he going to need to tune anything else or can it simply be disabled?

Just as simple as that, it's either enabled or disabled.
Nothing else needs to be done.
You sure it was 3 quarts?? The low oil light would have come on before it ever got that low, just over 1.5 quarts and it's likely to come on because by then it's no longer on the dipstick.

Ya I'm sure, put 6 in with the previous change of Valvoline synthetic and FRAM filter and only 3 came out. Switched to Mobil1 synthetic and synthetic FRAM filter today, idk how much improvement it will make but the DoD is killing me. No lights came on or nothing.

Get a tune, get rid of that DOD ****, if youre still having excessive issues the updated GM oil pan gasket cuts that issue out

Thanks man I will be getting it tuned out within the next few days. If that doesn't help than I'll do the gasket cuts like you recommend. How much of a pain are those to do?

without the right tools a pain in the ass, im in the middle of the same thing. Basically you need a support fixture to hold the engine while the subframe gets lowered just enought to grab the oil oan out

Ya I bet, I probably will have to do that down the road.
Does anyone in the Detroit area know someone to get the DoD disabled on my GXP to help resolve this issue?

Finialy got around to posting the picture of the GXP. :-)http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/...psf599f3f9.jpg
Just happen today. Our (my wife and mine) second Grand Prix to get rear ended. The first was totaled, I hope they don't try it with this one.
This reminds me of Steve Martin in the Jerk, when he was getting shot at, That guy doesn't like can's. Well for me, they don't like Grand Prix's.

I was waiting to polish the tips so I will not get yelled at by DirtDog, maybe he wont notice them. :-)
Here is the white one, of course it was not a GXP.

Photobucket had an ad at the bottom of the screen and it had my picture selling either Framed Prints, Canvas Wraps, or Holiday Cards.
Do you think I should get the Holiday Cards for the family and/or the Framed Prints for the den? :-)

We were loading the GXP at church with Samaritan Purse Shoe boxes. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-...ristmas-child/
My wife was going to deliver them, so I snap these pics real quick.
I was going to post them and make some crack about 140mph sleigh, now just prove the dent was NOT there before. :-)
