Another question. And not gonna start a new thread on same topic. What about no mufflers and put cherry bombs in where the mufflers usually are? Or a cherry bomb where the resonator currently is and straight pipe rest of the way

Might look a bit tacky with cherry bombs sticking out the bumper. Just go with resonators instead of mufflers.

Some guys just cut off the mufflers and install a chambered muffler where the resonator is. Here is one example............2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP exhaust - YouTube..........................for a bit less, you can get the same product from sweet thunder. I actually just cut off my mufflers last night and was going to do this but checking the cost, I will just buy my friends flowmasters and cut off the resonator. Since this is my DD, I don't want it to be too loud but don't want to hide the LS4 sound. :-)

Yea.I wanna keep the deep tone that my gxp has with it's v8. But I would like it to be just a little louder but not as loud as a cutout. When I get back from deployment next year I'm gonna put an electric cutout in then but until then I want it to sound much better. From the reading I've done the longer the glass pack the deeper the tone. So if I'm thinking like a 25-30 inch would sound about where I want it. But no mufflers just straight from the DP. Eventually I'm gonna do headers but I'm just waiting for Cal speed to produce theirs for retail

Depends on how loud you want, I found this video of a gxp wit a resonator delete. Sounds good to me. If that's too loud then add a glasspack.

I've seen one with a resonator delete in person and it ain't that much of a difference from my stock. That's why I'm thinking glass pack cherry bomb where the resonator is and straight pipe rest of it to the tips

@marines you will like the sound with the cherry bomb however if I could do it over again I'd buy a magna flow round style muffler to tuck under there. The cherry bomb I've had it starting to break in all the way and IMO not happy with the 4x4 truck .
