its the little asperator sensor thats mounted to the panel under the steering wheel it for climate control
I have also experienced this. There are two distinct sounds that come from the floor area under the dash. One being a sound like that of a computer fan and another from the door speaker that sounds like some ground noise in the amp. This can be heard even after the ignition is in the off position. The "computer fan" noise seems to come and go and is quite irritating.
I'm experiencing the smae ting on my GXP, but I just bought it a month ago, so I'm also wonderng if that's normal as it's kind of irritating
It's the ambient air temperature sensor (inside one). It's located right under the ignition. On the panel you should see a little vent that's about the size of a nickel. You pull the panel off and replace it if it's too annoying, but they are like $60.
I have an 2006 GXP that I bought 3 1/2 years ago with 15k miles on it, that has been making the same noise through the driver side door speaker with the car off or on when I hit bumps in the road. I figured out years ago to lightly tap of the right side of the radio in the dash, and my noise goes away temporarily, until I hit another big bump in the roadway. In addition, I have also figured out that it happens more in the summertime then it does in the winter cold months.
