A budget would help. You're going to want a transmission though. To get to 12's your be breaking them like no one's business.

Triple Edge Performance - Home Page for the Trans.

A turbo kit would get you there for sure.

    ZZPerformance - Go Fast... Not Broke | 3800 | Ecotec | Sonic/Cruze

Alot of LS parts will work on your car. It's just a little bit harder to make them work being a transverse motor and all.

I don't know alot about the LS4's but I think someone even makes headers for them now.
1999 GTPHP Tuned, Ported SC/TB, 42#'s, SSAC's, ZZP Modded 1.9's/LS6 Springs/Manley's, TransGo Shift Kit, Poly Uppers, KYB GR2's/Springtech's. - 231k and traded it in. - Gone
    2000 GTP: XP, P&P'd Heads, N*\Lq4 MAF, GenV, 42#'s, PRJ Rails\FPR, Racetronix, TEP w/ 3.29 Gears, 300m, 7/8" chain, SSAC's. - Collecting dust in my garage.

i plan on keeping the trans. doing a tranny flush, new filter, getting a external trans cooler. and getting a ls4 heat reduction . the trans will be fine. and maybe build the externals. and the budget im open to anything. price is not a problem.

Just letting you know our trans's are weak after you add power to them. Just preparing you for the inevitable. If price is not an issue your best bang for the buck is TURBO. In my honest opinion.

oh i know you are and i appreciate that. how much would it be to get the internals of the trans built up? and rough estimates? since that should obviously be one of the first things befor major mods. lol

turbo is your best bet, rynoman03 is right, your tranny is gunna go unless you beef it up better then a mcdouble from mc'dic's. the things u listed for your tranny will help! but wont stop the inevitable of it dying. take it out and put all better parts in it were u can, save your a$$ now. go with the turbo kit from cartuning.com it will put you in the 12's.
now with my tanny beefed up my turbo kit is not inncercooled and im only running 5psi for boost just cuz it is safe but the tranny will hold 12. There is doug thorley headers but you cannot use them for the turbo set up. get the kit with a methanol injection/ and use a exhaust cutout b4 the cat. hope all goes well
here is a video of mine and if you have any questions about it go through this thread or just send me a PM.

how the hell did you get your exhaust to sound that good?? lol.

how much in your opinion would it cost to get upgraded internals?
I have the upgraded downpipe that came with the turbo kit and right after the down pipe b4 the CAT i have an exhaust cutout, so the car is running open dump ( straigh pipe pretty much ) TRANNY- if you can do it with a couple of friends 1500- 2000 if your getting another shop to do it 2000 - 3000 all depends on what u get done. i can take picture of were the cutout is and i will post it tomorrow evening

ahh it sounds amazing. do you think the tranny would be fine if i did the flush, filter, cooler, heat reduction....if i only put a down pipe, headers, performance plugs and wires and a tune? i know i wont be in the 12's but thats really what i wanted to originally do.

i drive it daily and it has 90k miles...

Yea thoes things will help the tranny but even people with no mods at all get problems. If u dont go turbo get headers and no downpipe cuz if u do go turbo u have to keep the stock manifolds so thats when u would use a downpipe and i use mine as a dd all spring summer and fall

I thought it was only good if you dropped the tranny pan out and cleaned all the shavings. But i read from gm they have new dextron iv and u wont ever need to do a flush or drop the pan again or somthin like that

LOL and they also make cars that don't rust anymore

I provide mail order LS4 tuning on my website. Basic boltons plus a tune make a nice difference for around $1000.

If you really want 350whp, turbo is the way to go, and with a proper trans upgrade expect to budget around $6000-7000 in total.

If price is not a problem, get rid of it and trade up for a G8 GXP or something else rear wheel drive with more power.......problem solved.

You missed my point, by stating price is not a problem indicates just that (turbos for these cars are certainly not cheap). It's either a poorly stated comment, or sounds like a brag post. Soooo, back to my original statement.....if price is not a problem get something else with more power. Not trying to be a dick, just letting you know how it comes across when you've been a member less than a month. Good luck in your search....for a beefed up GXP.

its not fast enough and a faster car could be bought for cheaper then upgrading this one
