My check engine light and Check Gas Cap warning came on last week. Diagnostic said it was a 'Gross Leak' in the evap system. The gas cap looks fine. How much should I expect to pay for a fix on this and what are the consequences of not fixing it right away?

EVAP canisters (at least for the GP or my Cobalt) were less than 40 bucks...and you just unhook the old one and toss the new one on and clear the code.

My 06' GXP also has a 'Large Leak' in the evap system. Smoked the tank, it didn't leak. opened and closed the valve with the tech2 and it seemed to funtion properly. Closed the valve and ran the car while watching the tank pressure on tech2, it didn't come off 0. Pressure sensor was the culprit. Looks similar to a MAP sensor. It's not an item you can order separately from the pump. Kinda like the in tank fuel filter.. f*ckers

if it is a P0446 most likely its the vent valve if you do any gravel driving. Its behind the left rear tire inside the rear bumper cover

Is anyone experiencing the strong odor of gas inside the cabin after a fill up?

I'm throwing PO455 code, which sounds similiar to this situation. At first it was a small leak and I replaced the gas cap and it went away for about a week. It came back as a Large Leak. Not sure what the fix is. Thanks

I have a 97 grand prix 3.8 That build a whole lot of pressure in the fuel tank speacially on hot days. I replaced the, fuel cap. evap silanoid, evap valve, canister. When I open the gas cap I still get a lot of pressure blowing out of the tank.

When taking off the evap canister how do you remove the big vacuum hose? I tried pulling and twisting and it doesn't want to budge. I'm afraid of breaking it. Do I need to get rough with it or what?
