This makes me all & at the same time. Im reading too many correct answers and little results. As said were not here to hold your hand, but give advice. If you don't take said advice, were not the ones at fault here.

I have literally changed batteries in the dark with a pair of pliers using my phone as the light. Then again I was raised in a garage and can do most tasks with basic tools but that's another story. Point being, its not a hard task to complete. I too have tried the wrong way to charge a battery and it took forever to get it to jump but how long did you spend time arguing and tirelessly look over the net and miscellaneous forums before getting SOMEONE to explain to you how to go about removing the battery? How many hours online searching vs calling a friend, family member, or just using what god gave you to figure it out yourself? Your in college, I know mechanics that are high school dropouts, use your brain and stop the "flaming" before it starts next time

And im sorry im not familiar with doing this stuff. Im sure i know how to do things you guys would be clueless at. I was asking one question. How to get the battery out. I managed to get it out and replace thanks to a helpful poster elsewhere.

I'm not sure who you were trying to take a stab at with this post, no one on here thinks they are an "elitist" nor do most think they are superior on this forum. You were told on page 1 of your post how to do it and even told the exact socket size and the fact that you need an extension for the socket. You then disregarded that information and were looking for an alternate method instead of going to walmart to get a $10 socket set so you could do it right and be done with it. You could have even taken the suggestion of going to Autozone or a similiar store and having it installed for free and/or be sold the tools you need and instructed by someone on how to do it.

To be honest, you started the bashing by saying "You don't know how to take this battery out, you don't even have a GXP". That was uncalled for, you don't know what other knowledge others may or may not have, for all you know he could be a mechanic. Most of us don't only know how to work on our own Grand Prixs.

I don't mean to come off as a dick but it does get annoying to see this stuff over and over and over again. Just take everything I say with a grain of salt and maybe actually try it. People are here to help but you do need to have some ambition like I said before.

Once you get your battery in I would recommend getting a simple tool kit from home depot or something because it will help you out a lot.

This is what I had to do to get my battery out on the GXP. Take off the crossbrace and move the fusebox. You also have to stand the battery up and pull it straight out. Took me like 20 minutes to get it out because you pretty much need a second person to hold the fusebox out of the way. After 20 minutes and a bloody hand it came out. New battery took like a minute to install though. It also definitely helps if your battery has a plastic handle to carry it. The stock Delco one didn't.
