Thread: new filter, what to do with the old airbox bottom.

well i got rid of the airbox and put on a cone filter. not really much of a noticable difference in power, a little difference on noise, alot of difference on looks. now i need to figure out how to cover up the electrical stuff that was hdiing in the bottom of the airbox. im thinking of cutting up an old plastic dealer plate, painting it black and using some silicone adhesive.

dont cover it up, it needs air to stay cool.

ahhh ok. that sucks cuz it looks like shat. oh well function over form for me.

i am, just need to figure out the Intake temp sensor placement.

Yupp mine is metal piping with a whole drilled... I really need to get pics up if i havent posted them so I can show people how it was done... Since most people do PVD I want to show a different option

Yupp just checked my phone. I dont have a pic of it installed so when I get home today ill suffer the elements and snap a quick one of it on

I was gonna say...that works.

Also...I'd get the next filter up in size. That one you used is kinda the medium one. I actually noticed a difference going up in filter size...on my car.

I believe he got them from siliconeintakes.com

go to your local pilot or T/A truckstop. looks like the 4" intake piping on them. ive often thought about scavenging a few pieces from work for an intake.

and off subject its nice of GM to put the PS reservoir in a good spot.

Look at that nice crease by the throttle body...I bet thats nice.
