So my GXP is a 2006, 73k miles on it. I noticed that the passenger carpets where your feet rest were totally saturated one day. I thought I had spilt some water or something because when I ran my hands thru it, it was just plain ol water. I originally thought it was a heater core leak, but it's not anti-freeze in the carpets. It's just regular water. Someone told me that the condensation off of the evaporator could be the root, perhaps the hose that leads to the run-off is cracked or broken somewhere, but I dont know where to look for this hose. Another person told me that there is an elbow off of the firewall where the a/c is supposed to drip water when it runs onto the ground, but I cant find this elbow either. Any idea's where to start looking for this leak? I know for sure it is water. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure then other than what you said in your OP on what it could be. I know alot of them have the problem i mentioned cause the plastic piece under the wiper blades warps and water goes in that way.

If this was an ac condensing problem shouldn't that go away if the ac is not in use? try that and see if that helps. It's more troubleshooting than a fix but this is all i can think of right now.

I turned the a/c thermostat up to 70degrees as opposed to 60, the lowest setting, and it seems to have all gone away... Carpets are dry and not saturated anymore. I dont know tho, it hasnt been very humid in AZ lately, so if there was a drip, I wouldnt know. Is it weird that I never see a water drip under the car when the a/c is on?

The humidity could have something to do with it too i would imagine... If there isn't as much mosture in the air to condense on ac lines then you shouldn't get as much water. maybe set some news paper or something under the pss. side and see if that gets dripped on with AC use. If your carpet is dark like mine then you're not really gonna see where it's getting wet or even that it's wet till the thing is soaked.

my sister had the same experince in her jeep it was because of the a/c it gets cloged after a lot of use theres piping that runs through there prob the same one as the one you thought was dripping. Just take it to any shop they will take it right off and give it a good cleaning

(sorry about spelling and other things im too lazy to correct it lol)

I bet it is the rain coming through beneath the windshield my car does this as well, gp's are notorious for it,

I believe there are more fixes than this but heres one
Open cone, SSAC headers, cat delete, 8.5 MSD wires, 3.4 zzp mps, 180*, 104's, ported blower, DHP canned tune, 19" XXR 962s, DNA springs.

Thank you so much for the responses. I have dialed up the climate control thermostat to 69deg, but I do have to say that there hasnt been a single rain and dont forsee one in the near future out here in the desert. I am going to attempt to follow the guide to attempt the permanent fix. I cant know for sure that this is the problem, and since my last post, the carpets have all dried out, there seems to be no moisture being retained in them at all anymore. I will probably do this project this weekend and hopefully that will end the problem. It was so extremely saturated it was unreal. I am still a little bothered about the lack of a condensation drip. I also checked it with a newspaper weighted down w rocks, no drip. Weird.

I had this same thing happen to my 98 GT this summer. The passenger floor board was soaked. It turned out to be the AC condensation drip tube was clogged. The condensation backs up over time and runs into the car. This may explain why you are not seeing the water drip out side the car. This was a simple fix for me. Im not sure where this part is on the newer GPs, I assume in the same general area. The condensation out put on my 98 was on the firewall in the area right behind the glove box. It should be a little rubber black elbow shaped tube. You should be able to see it by looking under the hood...may need a flash light. It pops right off. Take it off and clean it out good. If thats the problem it should clear ir right up. Hope this helps.

Just alittle side note... the 2007 GXP has the perm. fix from the factory. Could try a water hose and see if that make it leak.
