i was day dreaming the other day about swapping the ls4 for a ls6, so i went on line and found that there is a company in PA that swaps the pontiac solstice engines with the ls6. Now i know what your saying in your head "the solstice is a RWD" but lets dream for sec here let me here what you guys think.

    you cant.

    crankshaft is TOO LONG.

the LS4 BARELY fits in the GP and only because they shortened the crankshaft.

you can install the LS6 upper intake, the LSx Series motors are pretty close to being the same as is.

a few hp thats about it and you will need a tb adapter if you do the ls6/ls1 swap. its not worth all the work and fab for the little hp gain if you dont have any serious mods

You'd need to convert the car to RWD or make it wider.

Both would cost 20 grand or more.

The LS4 has the shorten crank with only one belt. Also the Starter is mounted to the trans not the motor like other LSX. Seems to me the bolt patern for the bell housing is different. you could do the LS6 intake though.
