Okay, so ive seen alot of threads lately about terrible MPG with the GXP. I just came back from out of town(about a 160 mile round trip) with around 100 highway and 60 city and had a mpg of 28.8, what the deal with the mpg's on all but mine? I even beat my car up sometimes and still get 18-20 and I really dont think that the KNN intake could be that drastic of difference, is there a difference in the 08 compared to other years or something as far as fuel economy? I would post the video but youtube isnt letting me upload right now.

I have an 06 GXP and I cannot complain about my MPG's but yet I am not proud of what I get. I very rarely drive it on the E Way its mainly city driving so that could be why. I love my car and is worth paying whatever I need to pay to get my V Power lol

I agree.....mine isn't fantasitc, but I certainly can not complain. 99.9% of my driving is within the city (speed limit on way to work is 45-50) and I still pull pretty good numbers for a 5.3. I only drive about 50-70 miles a week on weekdays. My weekends are low miles as well, there are times I don't even get it out of the garage.

On a side note: Anyone that buys a vehicle with a V8 and complains about MPG's should be slapped.

The 05...06...07...and 08 all have slightly mod'd tunes. I too in my 08, get about 25-30 on the highway. Even doing 80 mph to see my girlfriend 192 miles away, I was getting a SOLID 24

I average over 20, which is all I wanted. I average just over 20 with a lot of cars, even those with better fuel economy, because I always push slow cars really hard.

8.3/100 km or 32.96 miles to the canadian gallon during a recent 400km run to Fort McMurray with a couple of hard passes taken. I think this is great considering I still have snow tires on the car. Just had the injectors cleaned(76,000 kms) and I think prior to cleaning I was getting better milage driving it over 120km/h then crusing it in its 4 cylinder mode.

    Americanised version:

8.3/100 km or 27.46 miles to the American gallon during a recent 240 mile run to Fort McMurray with a couple of hard passes taken. I think this is great considering I still have snow tires on the car. Just had the injectors cleaned(47k miles) and I think prior to cleaning I was getting better milage driving it over 75mph then crusing it in its 4 cylinder mode.

On my daily driving cycle I am getting arouns 24 MPG. I drive 45 miles to work and 45 miles back, with at least 10 miles in stop and go before I hit the highway, so I am happy with mine. On I-10 driving to AZ I averaged 29 on the way there and about the same on the way back. At least 80MPH for most of the trip s9ince the speed limit is 75 for most of the trip.

I'm getting about 19.6 overall. I've gotten as good as 24 or so highway. I got the best MPG in my 04 Impala at 80+, I'm wondering if this car might be the same regarding its sweet spot. It would be loafing at 85-90 and it gets a chance to burn some of the crud out, haven't had a chance to do that yet.

Maybe I'll go find my Fuelly link and put it up here.

    Not great, but I didn't expect great with a 325 c.i. mill.

Beastly, sounds like you've got an unusual one, so enjoy!

I just bought an '07 GXP because of the gas mileage. I drive 50 miles to work through 3 cities, and am averaging around 25 mpg (and this with some agression at red lights). This is a tremendous car. Aside from the cost of tires, it has no downside.

You clearly haven't had to replace the brakes yet.

Fair enough, but the 97 GT I just retired (at 203K) also had 4WDB; I checked and the cost won't be much more. I'm figuring $200-$300/yr difference in operating cost from my 97. That's acceptable to me given all the all the GXP perks.
