I am considering buying a 2005 GXP, but the more I read, the more I notice there seem to be very limited options for the 2005 and that the suspension isn't able to handle the V-8 in the front. Does anyone know if there are performance parts available for the 2005?

Where did you hear the suspension can't handle the V8?

Furthermore, wtf does that even mean?

These cars are NOT great at handling no matter which one you buy so if you're looking for that, look for a different car.

All you can do with the LS4 is headers (which there is a limited production run of), LS6 intake (which requires an assload of work to get to work), Intake of some sort, Catback (makes it sound pretty sick)

A cam might be possible, not sure on that one.

    Just found this:http://www.fieroaddiction.com/LS4/engine.html

Not sure how reliable this info is though.

well it honestly seems to me that it is easy enough to get equal power out of a gtp vs. a gxp. Plus you'll have more room to go with a gtp

they handle pretty good for what it is(GXP) they score a 0.81 on skidpad which appearently is way above normal for a car. gxp i believe is lowered more than standard gp and has eibach springs and beefy brakes and all, mine does what i need it to.

You can do more than a TB, headers & exhaust. You can get a professional tune, add a turbo, rockers, cam (I hear a standard LSX cam fits the LS4), port the cylinder heads. Or put the car on a serious diet, lol.

LS7? Hell, LS9! Should'nt they fit? I've seen in Hot Rod where they took a 5.3 (327 ci) and made over 500 HP N/A with heads, cams and intake. Not a big fan of the 04+ but the V8 changes everything for me.

You can do a cam...or rockers...problem being you lose the D.O.D. in the car (Displacement on Demand). The reason they aren't modded a lot if because of the limited space...the LS4's intake is VERY restrictive (manifold) and only 1 person as of now to date IIRC has swapped a LS6'er on there. Get a GTP...or a N/A V6...and turbo it...or build up a blown car. LS4's might sound good...but that's about it. You'll need A LOT of money to go fast and keep it running IMO.

no. crankshaft had to be shortened to fit it in the GP so the other LSx engines won't fit.

Same block? if the mains are the same size, or custom machine larger crank to fit?
You know, it really is a shame that GM never made any W platform AWD, they did it to the old 6000 STE's for a year or two. What a blast with the torque these engines produce, V6 L67/32 or V8.

I believe they have LS2 heads on there.

LSx cam's work but you lose DoD.

Not really familiar with it at all though.

It really would be great if it were AWD.
