I know that asking this is a bit a religious issue, but I still figured I'd ask.

I've always went with Valvoline oil in the past and never been disappointed. My father swore by both Valvoline and Shell oil. I know that Mobile1 is good stuff but left wondering if it's worth the money.

As far as filters, I went with Purolator Plus. I see the Mobile1 filters are roughly 2x more which leaves me wondering if they are worth it.

Any opinions or comments? I just bought the car with 38,000 miles and a 2006 model. I plan to keep it for the next 3-4 years at least and want to take care of it.

Nothing Wrong with valvoline at all. and i like purolators alot. I hate fram filters. I usually buy what evey synthetic oil change special is going on as long as it doesnt come with a fram filter. Mobil1, Castrol, or Valvolline.

    Fram blows.

Stick with GM/AC Delco filters or a Mobil1

I have been running the Mobil one 5w-30 full synthetic with a mobil one filter since day one, and so far so good. You can get a case of mobil one full synthetic for $34 at Costco. So with a mobil one filter you are talking about $44 or so.
