u can do it either way in my car. You can press the t/c button first to just turn it off then later hold it down to turn off the ESC.. I find it easier to just do it all at once. Do you have a GXP or just the Comp G as in your profile... From what i have read only the GXP have ESC so there woudl be no may to turn it off. If i remeber what i read correctly

That sucks. Look in the owners manuel. I actually figured this out while talking about corvettes. So i tried it out and worked for me on the GXP. Then latter on found it in the owners manuel.

The GXP is the only Grand Prix with standard Stabilitrak. It is optional on some of the others. So are ABS and traction control.

I like being able to turn it off without pulling the fuse, mainly because I like having ABS on even when traction and ESC are off.

No i havent i have always avoided them. And thats what i dont like about them. is that i woudl be doing somethign to avoid the accident, like steering and could possibly have my arm in front them when they go off doing more damage to me. And i know if i really got in a serious accident an airbag would help little in really saving my life.

Yea, I understand that...................but I think that would rather take that chance and walk away from a 65 MPH head on collision with two black eyes and a broken pair of glasses. I always thought about the air bag going off and wearing glasses and thinking wow that could really do some damage, but I was glad that I had air bags that day!!

Well i wish no one an accident either. Im glad you survived yours. And i hope you are fully recovered. I feel like this statement

"Adding explosives to the interior of a car isn't my idea of making cars safer. Having those explosives monitored and triggered by the cheapest-possible electronics doesn't add any confidence."

I have worked them as a tech and they scare the crap out of me. They can exploding for no reason. I have had several friend injured from air bags when they woudl have walked away from crashes. Iknow there is alot of other saftey devices used in racing but , if air bags are so great why not use them in race cars. I think the money that air bags cost is way overrated. I think teaching people how to drive in an emergency situation would be better solution. Saddly though the first time alot of people are put into a situation of emergecy car control that is there first and its to late. Im not saying they are the biggest devil ever just personaly i dotn feel safe around them. That is were alot of cost for new cars come from about $1500 per each air bag. Cars with mutipul bags can easily reach 10,000 in just air bags. They can save lives, no doubt. I just feel there benifits dont outweigh there risks. I have exploded air bags as part of training, they power they hold is amazing.

I have launched a Port-a-John using a camaro passenger side airbag.

It was quite funny at the time, come to think of it.... it still is.

Port-a-John...didnt really like the landing...and neither did the workers the next day.

also air bags dont always go off. i rolled a car over 3 times and no airbag. but if i were to plow a car head on at a good rate of speed. id rather hit an airbag then the windshield or something else. specially if you get in an accident that you dident see coming (someone pull out in front of you from a side street while your looking the other way) **** happens and air bags do save lifes

    Great air bag discussion guys.....
anyway, I will try a second time to get this Stabilitrack off. if I touch my TC button, it turns right off with a beep....then, if I hold down the button, it does not beep, but really does nothing until I let it go, then it just turns on the TC again.....I am going to hold it down longer and see what happens again tonight.

Panther, what other mods have you dabbled with other than the AutoZone exhaust?

All i have is a custom tune. Im short on money as i dont have a job at the meoment and havent been able to get my unempolyment yet. So holding off on any other mods for right now. THough its really tempting to go spend 50 dollars lol. Just push and hold the button down for over 5 seconds. Then u should hear one beep. HUD will say look at DIC. Watch the DIC first it should say TC/ dissabled then a second or so later say Stabilltrac Off.

I have better luck turning off the Stability Control if I hit the button once to turn off Traction Control. Then, push the button down and hold it for about 5 seconds and the DIC will then display Stability Control Off. Just holding the button down for 5 seconds only turns off Traction Control for me.
