So As all of us with the GXP know we have a somewhat f uped tire sizing on our cars. I have looked at tires and i have notice that u can find 225-235 45 18 alot easier than 225-235 50. What do u think of going this way to open up more choices

Her is a link to discount dires with the Stock 255-45-18 and 235-50-18
    Alot of choices

Discounttires.com with the lowest prices on tires and wheels, carrying all name brands, and having a huge inventory. In most cases, shipping is one to two days guaranteed.

I was also looking around and was wondering how a 265/40 18 and a 235/45 18 would work. General tires Exclaim UHP tire is avalible in this size are really cheap. front $165 rears $129.. Now if we could do a 255/45 18 and a 225/45 18 instead ofthe 50 serious the prices would be.. Fronts $140 and Rears $109

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Exclaim+UHP

And on a side note i found some 17 enkie wheels for $300. They will be my winter wheels. They are narrower. Might need a spacer to make the front look right. Deciding between 215 and 225 widths, and 55 or 60 tall. I like that narrower tire for snow, but widder would help with still having good tread to the ground. I think if a 60 series tire will fit ill buy that since its cheaper

I wouldnt go THAT wide..lol. it will affect how the car is able to turn.

235 to 245 is not that big of difference.

275 on the other hand..... that is a whopper!

LOl ya just thinking for future use. U know with a turbo/sc/ for traction at the strip. THen u would want 275 fronts. 225 rear for lower rolling resistance

For the drag strip I was looking at the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial II's:

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

Maybe the 265/40R18's, with less backspacing and stocks rears. Just for the strip.

I can believe that. Trannyman95 has a shop that will rebuild the trans for about $1600 if you trade in your core, and he says that they support 12s ETs. I figure that the trans will have to be beefed up before long with all of the reports out there of trans failure while in warranty.

I bought the Goodyear Eagle F1's 10,000 miles ago and they have to be the best tires I've ever had. Previous tires I had were The Bridgestone Potenzas, those suck in the winter, with my F1's I have'nt been stuck once.

    Good tires to think about!

Im fairly happy with my 255 / 45 / zr18 at all 4 corners. like rotating.

only general as3s, i dont find them to be a bad tire at all for my daily commute, but they arent a track tire by any means.
Call me for a good time!

It just occurred to me I bet your front rims are on the back and with a 50 series tire well that's probably your issue

Not to mention that the 235/50/18 is .394" taller than the stock 225/55 and .216" taller than the stock 255/45.

And not to mention that there are different offsets front and rear on the GXP making it nearly impossible to rotate your tires.
