I'm hoping someone here can help me. Last week I noticed my belt was beginning to shred on the inner side closer to the engine. I planned to change it that wknd, but it didn't make it. It shredded on Wednesday night, and I replaced it. Then 2 days later the new belt shredded apart also. Before installing the a new belt, I checked all pulleys for play, and all seemed fine. The power steering pulley was a little tougher the others, I'm not sure if that's unusual or not. I checked again after the belt was on....no problems. I don't see it rubbing on anything. Well today (2 days later again), my belt shredded again. Can anyone please help me out or point my in the right direction. It's a 2000 gtp BTW

The main drive belt. The tensioner isn't bouncing around much at all, seems pretty sturdy.

Do you have the routing diagram? Just making sure all accessories are heading the right way.

Yes i have the diagram sticker mounted on the frame. I've taken it off so many times between this and my old car that I don't even need it, but I started to second guess myself this time and looked at it for verification. Everything is routed correctly. What's weird is I check it before any trip now, and there's no kind of wear on it at all.

I have seen some folks having that issue and being one rib off on say the bottom of the crank.

I'll double check it again. Looks ok. This is frustrating lol. It seems fine, but then SNAP out of nowhere. I noticed my supercharger belt is one rib off. No matter houw many times I put it on properly, it moves back. But only on the tensioner and free pulley. It's on properly on the supercharger and crank.

You have to find the problem first. Check all pulleys and tensioners. Either the belt is moving around on a pulley or it is off all the time.
