a lot of us run speed daddy headers, 200 shipped. cant beat em really for the price.

tuning not a one and done type thing. best if its done over a few days time, as you need to let things learn before you scan and re adjust things.

i use the torque app for daily eye ball scanning. nice and cheap, and the dhp for data logged scans.

dont need a wideband but its nice to know for sure what your a/f really is. you can hook it up to the dhp unit and scan with it too.

to further prove my point. on my 2000 GTP i have a 3inch downpipe , zzp powerlog , 9 inch cone intake , AL 104 plugs. overkill tuned pcm . just put a 3.4 SC pulley on today . i seen as high as 8* of KR.
another member, burbman has the very same setup on his 2001 GTP , but he has the zzp pcm and he is seeing less than 2* of kr.

Ok, so I did some more reading and I guess what I'm currently looking at, for now, is:

    SD headers
    1.90 rockers
    CAI
    genV blower
    N* TB
    modular pulley system
aeroforce interceptor gauge + wideband o2 sensor
    tuner
plugs and pulley determined by tune, assuming 3.4 and 104s

    1. do the SD headers go to the cat or will i still need to delete the Ubend/buy a downpipe?
    2. what all will I need to make the N* TB work?
    3. When people are talking LIM, is it just a gasket replacement?
    4. Anything I'm missing, either to lower KR or fill this build or anything i have that's superfluous?

SD headers should come with a downpipe, no need to worry about the u bend. for the northstar to work you will need an adapter plate to mount the tb to the supercharger, and will need tuning for it to work properly. if you switch to the northstar tb, you will also need the northstar maf. the LIM is the lower intake manifold, the piece that bolts the supercharger to the engine.

I strongly recommend you stick with the copper tip 104's.

what exactly is it that needs to be done to the lower intake manifold? What I gathered from reading around was replacing the gasket, is that correct?

As for the N*, I remember reading something about an ls7(?) MAF, and that I can port the blower housing so that the TB fits without the adapter plate?

Would upgrading the motor mounts be a good idea?

SDs come with the downpipe so that takes care of the ubend.

Lim = lower intake manifold.. Most either had or have those plastic gaskets go bad on them and leak so it's preventive maintenance to go ahead and change them for the aluminum style ones.

Your off to a good start

truth is, it can do more then then HP tuners can. you can use tiny tuner, its a bin editor program. has files unlocked that no one else has. like to kill a cat test for the 01 up cars. make a car with out perf shift have it in the pcm now working with a button you need to add.

hp tuners is kinda like aol was, it holds your hand and has pretty graphs and stuff lol the end result is they both get the job done. HP is probably more user friendly tho.

you are going to need an adapter plate regardless of porting. the northstar tb has a different bolt pattern than the L67. you can upgrade the upper motor mounts to poly mounts so the engine is held firmer. there are two sets of upper motor mounts, the round ones that go in the dogbones and the square ones that go in the mounts. you can also upgrade the engine mount to a poly mount, which will also help to hold the engine firmer. I don't recommend changing the transmission mount to a poly mount as it causes a lot of vibration.

I started with a dhp and once I learned a bit, I sold it and bought an HP Tuners. the dhp is nice to have, but the hp tuners software is far superior to the dhp. the HP Tuners software just works, while the dhp doesn't just work as it is a process to get set up

vet never got his hp tuner synced up, lol dhp is rather easy once your told wtf to do, or you can pull your hair out. ive helped a number of guys set them up here. got screen shots and stuff t help out.

the only support you get is off forums with active dhp users. and bills drop box of gold https://www.dropbox.com/sh/npa8brtuzoq3qps/jqYuBP0cv- dhp software, tiny tuner, bins from almost years supported, tuner manuals and so on.

as for using a dhp, I'd rather go that route, simply out of cost... but I cant seem to find one. Hoping there might be a board member I can meet up with and maybe sort something out. My only other option is to buy a bunch of pulleys and go spend $500+ at a shop that's an hour away for a dyno tune. And i dont want to buy a bunch of pulleys just so i can figure out which ONE i need :/

you buy a new avt box and use the dhp software with it, you need to down load some firmware or some thing to it.

a 3.4 is the wall pretty much even if you toss a cam in there.

unless your on e85 fuel, or get a ic.

just start at a 3.4" and see what happens. many people come on this forum to look for parts, so you should be able to recoup some of your money on the pulley.

im making this a much bigger headache than it needs to be... I guess I'm going to pick up one of those avt things, see what I can do, and maybe eventually risk taking it to one of these dyno-tuning shops near here and hope they dont ruin my car because it isn't an camaro or mustang.

PS: Scotty, where'd you get 1.95 rockers? Highest ive been able to find is 1.90

Thanks everyone for all the inphomashunz

last question.. will the aeroforce gauge be able to read knock, or is that what the DHP is for?
