I'm just wondering what my gains are going to be if I swapped to one, or if I should even get one right now with what I have. I'll get it either way because it's free just thought it would be best to ask you guys if I should put it on now or wait.

with your mods its not worth it, but if it is free i would use it. i actually got rid of a northstar setup i had just out of pure spite for the pedal feel. it was too loose feeling for me. i drove around with it on for a week or so while i ported my stock TB and switches back when i was finished.

a TB will help when youre a little farther into modding.

none. you dont need anything to require putting it on, but im just saying it wont make much of a difference at this point. will it give you 1-3 hp? yeah, sure. will it give you a crazy seat of the pants feel? nope.

next step for you is some rockers or trading in the DP for some headers.

Smaller pulley,Headers, rockers like Nick said are all things that will benefit from a larger TB

and there is tuning required with using the LS1 throttle body. so its not just put it on and be done with it.

but i agree with the others, not really beneficial at this point
i would look into some rockers and headers

if you change the throttle body you need to do a MAF tune. the fueling will be off with the new MAF sensor. i woudnt go with the LS1 you dont have your cruise control. i would search the classifieds for a nice used or brand new used Northstar. i picked mine up on clubgp for under 250$

With supporting mods as listed above like rockers or even a cam swap, that TB will help that engine come to life even more. The throttle response alone will put a ear to ear grin on your face.

I love my LS1 TB, great mod!

Who says you can't have cruise with the LS1? I have mine, nick has his.....

it's an easy fix that can be done in like 10 minutes.

Um......yeah, I'll have to dig up an old throttle body, and then compare it. May take me a day or two.

    its cool no hurry here

and to add to this thread headers and 1.9 rr would be better then a tb. tb will just give you better throttle response and a little hp

but is it worth it to go with the 1.9 if i plan on going with a cam later? or would it be best to do the headers, tb since I have it, and then the cam when i can afford it and everything i'm going to need to get it running right (install kit, Tuner, etc)?

well headers would be safer in case you decide to do a cam. but it comes down to how much power you want. by the waY there is a member who has a set for sale on the site.
i dont regret my headers, i added them on with my cam and man it made the car come to life!

Northstar = FAIL compared to the LS1...like Brian said he got the cruise control figured out...it is just as nice as the stock setup. I rode in a car with the N* and actually got to drive it and the pedal feel BLOWS compared to the LS1...it felt all mushy

Go find a LS1...and be happy with b/c they are WAY better. Brian does great work...he could modify one for ya if you had one
