After a near impossible SD Header install on my 06 GT i got everything hooked up and started her up... But the engine is shaking pretty bad to the point where you can feel it while sitting in the driver seat. The idle will stay consistent than stumble for a second. The CEL is on but even if it was running fine it would be on because i'm cat-less. I'm to afraid to drive it up to the autoparts store to get the codes read. The seal between the headers and the EGR tube has an exhaust leak but idk if that has anything to do with it.. Any suggestions on what i should look for?

did you take the spark plugs out for the install and removal of the stock crap? if not you cracked a plug or two easy.

I did not so i will definitely check those out.. If anything it would probably be one of the rears. I was also looking up vacuum leaks as well, seeing as i was laying on top of the motor, and if i do recall some of those lines looked pretty brittle. Would the EGR not being sealed to the headers have anything to do with it? or no.

Haha well yeah the loud exhaust leak is a little hard to miss I was just curious if it was contributing to my performance issues is all i know i need to seal it. The problem is i work 7-6 pretty much 5 days a week so i don't have tons of time after work to mess around with stuff. But i will definitely check plugs tomorrow. On a side note i don't think i will ever install headers again on any car.. What a pain. I had to cut a few inches off the connecting pipe from front to rear manifold just to get it to work.

I'm pretty sure the only thing that went smoothly was that i didn't need to dent the firewall for the o2 sensor. It has a decent clearance between it and the firewall. Oh and i could squeeze the pipe past the trans dipstick.

mine kjust cleared too, but when the engine moves it will hit the fire wall. most will hear it hitting when in reverse on the brakes. i know i did. bent the crap out of it too.

it just as easy to beat the fire wall. or move it to the cross over pipe. what i did.

i had that leak, my coin flew off on me when i blocked it, it will affect how the engine feels.

Oh so that's why the back of my throttle plate and intake are coated black? -__- here i thought they were painted lol. I ended up cleaning up my throttle body once i seen how bad it was the other day. And as far as the EGR delete goes ive heard it raises combustion chamber temps if you delete it.

mines blocked off, but you want to delete it from the pcm so it sets no codes.
