Re: Engine Trouble
It's been in for about 2 months. It ran fine the whole time. This literally just came out of nowhere. I was just cruising along and it just went.
The company I purchased the motor from has has a warranty. They're sending me a new motor. Fingers crossed it's not another **** one. I'll be doing the swap myself. I can do **** like that, but trying to figure out what the hell's wrong when it could be a hundred different things causing the same problem annoys me.

Re: Engine Trouble
no compression can only be a few things really. chipped piston, bad valves, or burnt rings.

Re: Engine Trouble
Right. But it would've been too expensive to fix had I not got another motor due to warranty.
I'm just thinking that's gotta be the case, the motor they gave me wasn't supercharged and the boost was just too much for it. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. Unless they lied about the mileage like I said. 3800's are strong motors, they don't just fall apart like that unless something isn't right.

Re: Engine Trouble
the junk yards not gonna top swap a block and sell it, they rip em out and sell as is. you got a unlucky engine is all, it sucks but can happen when buying a used engine, just be glad they will replace the engine for you under warranty.
and many here run top swaps. im am one of them now. runs fine.
