I think they are the same as previous generations, but I won't have one apart until the end of this weekend. I may pull mine tonight, and install another.

No, they are not the same. The Gen3 are closed and the Gen 5 are open back. The dimensions are different too.

    Way cheaper than ZZP
I also have SKF bearings and seal for the snout. New eaton coupler as well as upgraded oil filled nylon.

You can still use the other bearings that are sealed on the ends I'm sure. The dims for the M90 and M112 have the same diameter and length shafts for the rear shafts. I used to build them all the time but never messed with a gen V other than noticing the snout was the same pattern as the M112 snout. I've been in the raising kids mode for the last 10 years so I might not be remembering correctly but I remember using grease to push out the old bearings on GM SCs and Ford Lightning and Cobra M112 but Ford M90's and Jag M112s were press out. They all used the same bearing as I recall.

its been raining and I went to pick up a bore scope last night so I haven't pulled mine yet. Hopefully tomorrow morning while the wife and kids are at my wife's Dads.

Gen 3 are cup needle bearings.
    Use grease fitting and grease.

Gen 5 are open needle bearings. Use internal bearing puller.

But do they have to be? Is there not enough clearance to fully press the cup style bearing in?

    Not sure what your asking.

Cup needle bearing in a hole with small hole you can use grease fitting to pump out. Press in new fitting 0.050 below surface.

Open needle bearings gen 5. In blind hole, must use internal bearing puller to remove. Look up supercharger needle bearing removing on YouTube.
