It isn't anywhere near as audible in the video as it is in person.

    https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...nt=video%2cmp4

It comes after every start, even if I had just driven the car minutes prior before turning it off.

It does, however, always go away after a minute or two of driving and it does seem to be tied to acceleration somehow until it does.

I've already run a lot of Lucas injector cleaner through over several tanks and it hasn't made a bit of difference.

Lifters? Valves? What should I try next, because this makes my car sound like **** to anybody I bring near it.

    Thanks guys.

Sounds like a valve train noise.

I'd add like a half quart of trans fluid to the oil and see if it goes away after you run it for a few days.

    Sounds like an exhaust leak.

Negatory; I had an exhaust leak months ago but have replaced every gasket short of the head gasket, including the exhaust gasket.

On adding tranny fluid; is it something I can leave in the oil for a while or do I need to do an oil change shortly after. I just did a full synthetic change so I'd rather avoid wasting that if possible.

I've also been running 1/2 a bottle of Auto-Rx since I change the oil about 1,000 miles ago and it doesn't seem to have done anything.

seafoam it and make sure its not leaking. a bolt or two could have backed out some, or cracked once the manifolds heat up and expand the leak stops.

could even be a cracked rear manifold.

or its just lifter tick. if it is gm says its fine as long as it stops with in a few minutes.

Sounds like my 00 GT. I believe I've tracked it down to either a leaking gasket or a cracked rear manifold, on the bottom of it towards the pass. side somewhere. Most noticeable at first cold start in the am. I quickly reached my hand back there one morning and felt a bit of air hitting my hand. It shuts up after it heats up so I haven't been too motivated to yank the rear mani and find out just yet. Maybe once it's above -7* I'll look into it.

Maybe take another vid with the hood open and move the camera around the engine compartment to see if we can help pinpoint the sound better. It's harder to hear with it closed and that far away.

its hard to tell still. but if it does this every time you fire it up during the day id think its a exhaust leak that seals its self when it gets hot.

lifters only seem to do it when they sit over night.
