The only thing the bbv solenoid does is allow the pcm to control boost for traction control. With it vented to atmosphere, the pcm will have no control over the boost, but it will still allow normal operation of the bbv (foot in throttle, it closes, and bewst!).
All i did was remove the solenoid, leave the line connected to it from the blower open, and remove the vac line going from solenoid to fpr (instead of a tee on the fpr, swap with an elbow to run to lim).

Once, my swap gets a little closer I think this will make a lit more sense, but I think I get what you are saying.
