So, here's the deal...I have a 98 GTP that is bone stock right now.

In the next month, I would like to do exhaust, intake, pcm, and 3.4 pulley.

I have some questions, What mods do i need first in order to do a 3.4 pulley without breaking anything?

-Is it worth getting a downpipe when i do my exhaust?

-In lamens terms, what will a PCM do for me?

-Last but not least, this is my daily driver....are these mods safe if i drive civil?

-Are they safe to my stock tranny?

Any help or info/opinions would be appreciated, thank you

if you want a 3.4, get the 3" downpipe for fear of your pistons. you dont NEED ported manifolds or a plog, but they will help a lot to keep you from knocking.

the pcm will help your fueling, shift points, shift hardness, speed limiter, etc. it does a lot.

a simple 3.4 setup will last forever on the street so long as your gas pedal has more than two positions (ON/OFF).

your transmission wont be any worse off than it was to start with as long as you dont drive crazy. no burnouts around cornors. double downshifting is bad. flooring it all the time from a stop is bad.

if i were to put a 3.4 setup together and that is all i wanted from the car, i would buy:

    ZZP front powerlog
    ZZP 3" downpipe
    180* thermostat
some form of CAI/HAI/FWI, you pick which one you want
    colder spark plugs (AL104s probably)
    3.4 pulley

    Wrong thread.

Anyway, For 3.4 you need a few things. Some more inportant than others.

First get a FWI. (fender wall intake) You can make yourself, or buy one.

Next get a programmed pcm. This will "de-ball" your pcm. It will add raise shift points, remove speed limit, higher timing etc.

Get a 3" Downpipe. I suggest getting one with a cat but that is up to you. Cat back is not a huge issue at the moment with 3.4 but is definitely not a bad idea to replace it.

    Power log (front exhaust manifold)

If you have the money get headers. This will take care of your power log, and down pipe as this all comes with them.

You will also need a 180* tsat and colder spark plugs (auto lite 104's).

Before you do all this you need to ensure your car is running in tip top shape. It is best to get a scanner and check to see how much engine knock you have. Engine knock (kr) + mods is a big no no.

    How To: E-Brake Pwn
    2001 GTP. D/S Rotors * Custom Intake * DHP PCM *
Looking For - 3" in DP with Cat. PM me if selling
