Blew out my elbow yesterday. Since I have the bracket off I figure I'll do the coupler and oil too.
Looks like the Gen 3 guys get nice 13mm bolts holding the snout on, while my 05 has T40 Torx bolts holding the snout to the housing.
I have the service record showing the coupler was replaced about 50k ago, and it looks like they WAY over torqued the snout bolts, in addition to using some kind of thread locker.
The result is 3 broken T40 bits and only one fully stripped head, but almost all are chewed up. So is there any thing stopping me from replacing them all with nice stainless hex heads?
