Do the Borla mufflers sound good because I have heard that some eBay mufflers sound bad.

It's not an eBay muffler. It's Borla Pro XS. eBay and many other sites just sell the mufflers.

Yes, the Borla's sound great. Anyone else who has heard my car will agree.

I just got done talking to the custom exhaust shop that did my exhaust originally. They offer a stainless turbo muffler for 160 each installed i am thinking of going with but i am still hesitant this would be my second set and i do not want to make it a third

Mount headers, mount resonator 16"+ downstream, then mount a single muffler before the Y. Have the Y come off and only be pipe to the tips.

    Just saved you $140+

Seriously though, Borla's are the best sounding mufflers for the 3800.

So, would need to buy 3 mufflers instead of 2, is that what you are saying?
Just want to be clear on that.

I think he is saying one muffler in front of the y-pipe then your tips but. There is not a lot of space there for a muffler and it would be louder in theory

Too much thinking for a W body.

I linked this once. I was told it was too much math.

A lot of people use a 36" magnaflow resonator because it will eliminate drone. I've been in 2 cars with this resonator and there is no drone.

check this link out for a quick reference. http://www.thechicagogarage.com/foru...resonator.html

Make sure you get the right in/outlet diameter too

Helmholtz is a great thought and certainly works. Is not too much math to figure, lol... And if you want to experiment, you could have a dual pipe (sleeve) with a step clamp setup (trombone like slide), slide the pipe length wise until you get the sound elimination you want, mark it, cut it, weld and done!

But these things take time, and lots of W-Body enthusiast don't seem to want to go the entire route of things and settle for just OK.

If you clicked my vid link, you'd see that an exhaust setup can be had, without the RASP many have and nice deep notes. Sure, we all now the 3800 exhaust sux, but it can be done decently if you put effort & $ into it!
