Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
Lets point out given problems.
2 - 3° of knock is bad. Engine doesn't like that. Obviously. With that said. 2° of knock will pull roughly 2° of timing.
Now we know the following.
Timing > Boost
The higher you can safely keep your timing without knocking the faster your car will go.
If thw stock GTP has 16° of timing and 0° of KR then it's going to utilize the boost better. And safer.
I am guessing you didn't lose by much? Probably a pretty close race?
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
Meth isn't used by most people, and it's probable not working correctly. The fastest m90's aren't using meth!
Both cars are gen 5. You have headers and 3.6. SSAC headers aren't the best. I would guess the don't line up well with the exhaust ports.
You drive your car and I would guess the traction control pulls a lot of timing because it learns the driver.
Your mom probable doesn't have as heavy a foot a the traction control doesn't pull much timing.

Yeah my mother has a led foot lol. It was a close race. I'm going to put the 3.8 back on and do some date logging. Back when I got ssac headers on everyone said they were the best now I guess they suck... life is funny
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
throw the meth in the garbage

Lead foot yes, but does she burn tire which engages the traction control?
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
The only thing you have to really adds power is the 3.6.
The headers free up flow and may net you a few more horsepower, but they are mainly a supporting mod that helps with knock. 104 plugs don't add any power. The "CAI" doesn't add power. As previously noted you don't have a 3" dp. The headers and downpipe are one unit. Res delete doesn't add any power and only makes the car sound like sh!t. Stock mufflers are not hurting your power. If your meth injection isn't set up properly it could be killing power. And lastly 91+ octane is required anyway.
Your car wouldn't be much faster than stock anyway. Maybe her car is just healthier.

I should of mentioned this. When I first got my car done being modded I raced her and completely smoked her. Seriously like by six car lengths. Now we are almost even, she actually pulls a little.
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
Hmm. So your car started out super strong, would smoke her, and now randomly it doesn't?
That makes me a bit concerned. Might not be a bad idea to check plugs and wires. If a plug is smashed or broken

Then you may want to do a compression test.
Other than that, I'm not quite sure what would cause the car to lose so much power all of a sudden

Going to hook it up to my scan gauge and find out

Maybe she has been mudding her car behind your back! For all you know she could be on a cam ic and 3.0 by now
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
Better driver?
Hahaha that's the last thing you want to hear.

I change plugs and wires every spring. Full synthetic oil every 3k miles

Synthetic oil change every 3k has nothing to do with what tomtom said. And just because you changed the plugs in the spring doesn't mean there isn't an issue now. Also changing the plugs doesn't affect compression. If you are having internal issues causing compression loss it will cause power loss.
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
Stock gtp is going to have knock. Mine had like 8* when i got it. So the 2 your getting most likely isnt the issue. As stated you dont need 104s. Go for a ride and pop a plug out and see waht it looks like. Should show a light brownish color. Cant comment much on the meth but if your losing to your mom it obv isnt helping. As far as traction control goes just pull an abs wire on one side. Maby your trans is smoked and is slipping out the ass because you beat the **** out of it and she doesnt. Also as stated for headers and a 3.6 you need to get an earlier year pcm and tune that for it.

I was just saying, if any plugs look like the one I posted, that piston is more than likely toast =P
That was a plug from cylinder 3 on my old motor. RIP old motor... RIP..
But I have a new motor now with a cam and all new gaskets so I no longer have that specific issue fortunately.
But what I was getting at, if you check the compression in your cylinders and one is way out of wack, might be your problem.
Also was just mentioned, the transmission.
I am assuming it is the stock transmission? Meaning it is not a GTP transmission. The GTP had the HD tranny. I have heard that you can put the GTP diff into the non HD tranny and should be fine. Someone else may have more/better information on that though
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
It is the "GTP" transmission. The 07 GT is factory supercharged.
Re: modified 07 prix s/c losses to stick 04 gtp why??
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ding ding ding! And people laugh when I bring up the topic of gearing.....
Gee makes a hell of a difference doesn't it?
