Okay, I got my Comp Cams Pushrods in today. So I now have CC 1.7 Roller rockers, CC Pushrods. I was going to purchase some LS6 springs (I dont believe I would have an issue with valve float even on stock springs, but I want to be certain, so the LS6 springs are just a tad bit higher seat pressure and should deal with that margin) but I dont know if I need LS6 retainers and locks? Can anyone comment on this? I thought I remember seeing somewhere that if you used LSx springs, you had to use their retainers and locks, but I want confirmation. So if anyone has some info, please post up.
So here is what I have so far.
1. CC 1.7 Ratio Roller Rockers (Done!)
2. CC Hi-Tech Pushrods, stock length (Done!)
3. Rocker collars & Rocker Bolts (shaft mount) (In Transit!)
4. Viton valve seals (Pending)
5. LS6 springs (Pending)
6. Steel Valve Spring Retainers (Pending)
7. CC Valve Locks (Pending)
What else do I need? Should I got ahead and replace the lifters as well? Also, will all this I have now work with L32 heads should I be able to get my hands on a set of those?
Feel free to post up and ask for any clarifying information you may need. I want to do this right and with the best parts I can afford. Just so you know, I know the OEM ratio is 1.66. I am after a little bit different things with the 1.7's than just raw power and if I should ever want to upgrade to 1.8's, I want to be ready on everything else, but I dont foresee it happening right now. I just wanted roller rockers in a lower ratio.
One last thing, if I should need to get new lifters, do I need new lifter trays? If so, what's involved in replacing those? Do I need to pull the heads to do that?
