    Went to put mass air flow sensor I got from salvage yard and it looks nothing like mine, I have 98 gtp with 2001 gtp motor are there two different sensors

    That's what the one looks like they gave me ave that will not even come close to fitting in the hole in the throttle body

    I see. That's weird. I was told the shorter ones are the ones from the like 96 and older cars. Apparently I was told wrong. The one for my car is like $140 for a reman from Autozone up here o.O

    Guess I'll take the sensor I got from salvage yard back and pull the sensor out of my car while in there n see if they can find me the right one, idk what else to do

    97-98 mafs are different than 99+ mafs in a grand prix. The thorttle body is the reason why, they are different on the inside.

    So I have the smaller sensor in my throttle body now, what year is that from, I have a spare throttle body that takes the bigger sensor

    Thats what I thought. His engine is from an 01 but apparently the 98 throttle body

    The smaller sensor in your throttle body would be the 98 and older style

    Right, and you want to run whatever MAF the computer is setup for.

    So if you still have the 98 computer, run that throttle body and MAF sensor.

    I think FFDP here was saying it is a bad idea to run the 99+ throttle body and sensor if the computer is set up for the 98 throttle body and sensor
