Hey everyone, my 2000 GTP is leaking oil, but I'm not sure where it is coming from. On one of my valve covers (the rear cover - closest to the cabin) there are three stripped bolts from the previous owner - so I'm guessing that is where the leak is. However, it seems that when I first shut the car off, a bunch of oil drops out, then it slows down and stops. Now it may be my imagination that the leak is worse right after shutting the car off, but I am sure that I cannot see any oil leaking while the car has been off for a while - it also takes a while for the oil to start leaking visibly (dropping onto the ground). The other thing is that the oil is hitting the exhaust and burning.
As I was typing this - I realized that while the car is jacked the oil seems to be passively dripping out. This could be residual oil leaking still - I'm not sure on this, or if this helps the diagnosis at all.
My main question (TLR) - what sources could the oil be leaking from to be burning on the exhaust manifold?
P.S. - for those of you that know my story from other posts, I got the N/A engine top swapped and in the car and it seems to be running well - except for this.
