Hi everyone just new to the forum but have been reading all your posts for sometime. There is always great information on this forum and I have a curious problem with my GTP that is bugging me and thouht you all might have some idea's. Just the other day I sent the car to the dealer for a recall on the possible valve cover leak that could lead to fire on the exhaust manifold and they said that while it was in it looked like my intake was seeping so I had them put a new intake gasket on. Since then when I start to go up a hill or just get on it when the boost hits a certain boost level it starts to herk & jerk some and if i shift down to 3rd the rpm's come up and the boost drops and it quits. I am taking it back to the dealer next week because I think it might be related to thier work done on the manifold. I would just like to get some intel on the problem so I will be somewhat prepared to not be given the run-around at the dealer. Who knows it might just be plug wires or plugs but I have 80,000 miles now and that stuff should need replaced soon but not right now. If anybody has any idea's or help would really appreciate it.
    Thank's now,
    JBEES

take it back in and make them fix it. without scanning or any gauge redouts it's hard to tell what youre experiencing.

Not really sure if it is the turbo or not. I was just relating it to the intake manifold because that was the last work done on it. Also It seemed to only start to cut out when the boost would kick in and usually about the same level of boost that is if you can believe the boost gauge on the instrument panel. Also when it would start to cut out i would drop it down to next lower gear and increase rpm and take away some boost it would stop. I'm just stumped ! It has no trouble codes showing.

Hey guy's my bad. Don't know how it got started as a turbo problem but it was just me not paying attention i quess. It may be a intake manifold problem because that was the last work i had done. Now when I push open the throttle in straitline or uphill the engine jerks and cuts out when the boost gets to a certain spot at least according the boost gauge on the dash not really sure how accurate that is. All I know is what i does is consistant. When I shift down to a lower gear and boost is not needed then it goes away. Sorry for all the confusion I started. Let me Know what you think.
    Thank's, JB

when they pull the LIM off they pull the vacume line off, its on the side of the LIM it also controlls/reads boost. if its not on all the way you can have boost problems. BUT your problem does not seem like that. take it back to them and have them fix it. if it was me i would just pull it off and look for myself or atleast watch them do it.

but also i would atleast make sure all the sprakplug wires are on correctly. the backones can be tricky and sometimes people just "think" there on. its an easy check and could be a simple solution

Hey bfr6 thank's for the tip on the spark pulugs. Not only were the plugs bad but there were three of them darned expensive plug cracked. I fixed all that had them put in a new fuel filter and flush the transmission and put new fluid in and also cleaned my throttle body. Now she purr's like a pissed off kitten. Thank's everyone for the advice.

alot of times when they do that work they mess up spark plugs, either crack them or dont get all the boots on. it's a common problem.

plus you said it was sputtering real bad, that would point to spark plugs.
