This is my plan. Like it or not.

Ported heads with valve job and new seals.
    Ported lim
    Headers
    Full exhaust

Both of you guys make valid points.

My money is that this topswap will go horribly wrong. Look forward to his upcoming threads.

Lol at the bunch of ass hattery in here. Look Tim Tim, all you need for the top swap is the hard part.. Blower, heads, lim, balancer, tensioner and idler. I suggest getting a map sensor from an l32 so you can use your stock map plug. Maybe just extend the wiring. Your transmission will be fine as long as you don't **** around like a tard. I'd wait a bit longer and save for everything. Don't do things in steps. Youll waste more money. And get your gaskets from rock auto. A lot cheaper.

You need to do more research on your own and get off everyone's dick on here. You say you can't find anything, I could put my 13 year old cousin on here and she would find out more than you in an hour and be able to cover all the bases with me.

Guys.. admittedly Tim is harsh on the car. Track record suggests that while the engine is out, the trans is a wise choice to swap.

Tim: Your tuner may not be fully up to speed on the differences in the harnesses. Go on your Dad's Alldata and print out the pcm pinouts and trans connector pinouts for the NA and SC GP of your year. Compare and you'll easily be able to add 5 wires/pins and a connector from a JY car into yours plus change over the existing 7 wires. It's straight forward once you look at it.

Then buy the BCS add on wiring kit from ZZP that also has the map sensor pigtail converter as well. Poof.. there's your wiring differences between the two harnesses.

Have your tuner do his part on the pcm and you should be in a good place to start it up. Then scan and tune the hell out of it before you ever romp or give it any throttle.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I would not change the harness. That is not hard..but it's harder than adding a few wires.

If what I have posted does not make sense yet.. it's time to search on some of the key terms and read up to get yourself up to speed. Before doing work on a car, you should know the car, the mod, and all the possible issues etc.

A l26 intake swap is 300x easier than a 60e to 65e swap... and he managed to do at least 3 major things wrong putting that intake on.

I understand what you are saying. So I need the computer from a gtp, and I need the connector for that computer and wire all of the wires into mine and than the new ones? Or keep my connector and use the open spots for pins to wire in all the new **** for the tranny and have it tuned

What if I was to say I can get a 97 gtp harness and computer. Will that just be plug and play?

97 will only work in a 97 car. so if your cars not a 97 forget that pcm.
