So for the last couple months or so, my car has had this weird problem. When starting the car, it will crank over, fire up, and then stall out on occasion. And then sometimes the car will start up, and then drop down to 400-500 rpm for a second or two and stutter and then start idling normal. Its a hit and miss situation. The other day, the car wouldn't start to save its own life. I had to crank it and give it gas before it would run, and as soon as I lifted my foot off the gas peddle, it would die. I had to keep the car above 1000 rpm to keep it running (had to drive home from work that way in stop and go traffic... YESS!! )

The car has 103k miles on it, bone stock...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like it could be a fuel issue. May want to have the fuel pressure regulator checked out.

Iv been having this same issue with my 2005 gtp. just bought new 10.3mm wires and new 104's for her but the car still starts weird sometimes. its starts up but drops to low rpm's then shoots up to normal idle speed. I dont know if its the fuel pump or injectors. What would cause it to do that. Also like sometimes the car will crank but not start. no clicking sound so it doesnt sound like anythings wrong with the starter. IDK IM STUMPED and it only has 101,000 miles on it ;/ any help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee.

After some more research on the issue, it seems that problem is with the Crank Position Sensor. about $30 +/- a few for the sensor. I havent fixed mine yet to confirm if thats what I was experiencing, but from everything ive read, thats what it is. the CPS.

You'll have to have a pully puller to get the crankshaft pully off, and I guess its right behind it.

    Hopefully that helps!
