So guys, got the car back together after rebuilding the engine. Just started it for the first time, and the RPM's jumped really high without any opening of the throttle body done by me. I would guess 2.5-3k... Didn't look at the tach in time, shut it off right away.

The only things that changed was a fixed vacuum leak, and fixed the intercooler pump that wasn't working before. Everything else should be the same.

Can anyone think of anything that would cause this? I have never even heard of anything like this happening.

Still sounds like you have a big vacuum leak somewhere or you have a TPS or IAC issue.

How would I check the TPS and IAC? And would there be a location that I should check in the vacuum lines that would be a more likely cause?

I can't find any vac line leaks... Unless the gasket between the intercooler and the supercharger, or the RTV between the intercooler and the intake manifold didn't seat right...

unhook the throttle and cc cables, see if they are holding the throttle open.
