Okay. I am fairly sure these do not go together. But my concern now is.. Where is the correct plug for the knock sensor and where does that orange one plug into? Anyone know?

99 GTP this is the rear of the engine

Getting kinda desperate. I wanted this car running forever ago but this is the thing stopping me...

Does it plug into the knock sensor?

knock sensors only have 1 wire going to them.

Thats what I thought but the plug is just too darn big to fit in the knock sensor. I have tried and tried and tried. The front knock sensor is plugged in fine, its a smaller blue plug. Dead center of this picture is the blue plug I'm referring to. I called GM and they said the front and rear knock sensors are the same and are insisting my plug is broke keeping it from plugging in. I told him the plug is just too big to fit...

are you plugging it in backwards? Is the knock sensor loaded with crap and needs to be cleaned out?

The first picture I posted was the knock sensor I can't get the plug into =/ and I have 3 knock sensors and none of them will fit that plug. However, it kinda appears that the metal inside the plug is kinda out of place. Might try to pry at it a little bit to see if it'll fit. And no I had it the correct way because I lined up the groove on the plug with the groove in the sensor itself

Lol yeah. 2 engines, 4 total but one was broken off at the metal so I pulled the rear one off of my original motor and put it on the rear of my new motor

Yeah. I called GM and confirmed that all the knock sensors are the same. Also looked on autozone's site and they only have 1 option. I almost wonder if this car ever had a rear knock sensor plugged in.
Dsmuts, do you know what color the sensor and its wire are?

These 3 sensors are all on like the same harness part. The green goes just below the power steering pump, the orange one = unknown/knock sensor and the last one goes to the tranny where the cv axle meets the tranny

The orange sensor is too big in diameter to plug into the knock sensor.

This blue plug is the plug just like the front knock sensor plug. It fits the knock sensors. Its smaller than the orange one.
The problem is, this blue sensor I took a picture of isn't connected to anything. It was found severed in the barn by the wiring harness for the new engine.

Any ideas? Since the orange one doesn't fit, I'm considering splicing on the blue one where the orange one is >.<

See the blue one in this pic is the one that always goes to the knock sensors. As for the orange one, I don't remember but before you cut anything, Talk to BillBoost37. He'll tell you what you need to know

Alrighty. I'll try to get his attention. I'd really like to know whats going on. This harness only had one blue knock sensor. The other harness, which I did not use since I never pulled the harness out of my car, had one blue knock sensor attached but also had quite a few sensors ripped off. So I thought this orange one either used to fit in the knock sensor and now don't
.... or it goes to something else.

    Green is oil pressure sensor
2 pin one.. I don't see a color on it is the vehicle speed sensor (diff cover right by where your axle goes into the transmission
Orange.. should be plugged into the pigtail for the knock sensor. Like Smuts said, there's a 12 inch extension that you don't have in there.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm still a little confused. What is the pigtail for the knock sensor? And the blue one that Smuts said I needed appears to be ripped off of the car. I am not seeing any of the blue wire that it came from =/
Does it come from the same spot the orange wire comes from?
