97-03 struts are the same.

I bet your rear springs have become really weak, but at that point I'd replace both.

you can use the 04-08/09 struts to work but keep in mind the spring rates changed over the years/models

I have 04+ CompG rear struts with 04 CompG front springs on em on the rear of an 00 regal drag car

the spring rate depends on the weight of the back half of the car, not the shock.

so if you got rear springs for a 9c1-3 impala your ass end might sit 1.25" taller than your stockers did when brand new

the strut you can use no problem, dampening isn't what your complaining about, its height. which is the springs,

your looking for rear springs for a vehicle with your F/R weight bias and overall curb weight. just be aware that the different models will sit differently. the buick springs tended to be soft, etc, etc

take each car and put it on a scale for full curb weight, then measure just the rear weight, if the numbers are close to the same for both then id say your right.

if not then you may end up lowering it instead of raising it....

id personally guess they are close since curb weight on both is fairly close and id figure the fold down rear seat and changes in body cladding is likely the same weight and not less weight...

what id suggest is spending some time looking up part numbers /weights from various years and models or just guess lol

what im saying is its a complete crapshoot unless you do a good bit of research

but yes the parts can swap

oh I know the cG's got stiffer valved struts and they all had dual exhaust so the chance that a set of those have close tot he same spring rate. with the same mileage or less than yours would probably do what you want but I dunno that you gain maybe a 1/4" height....but if they are from a 60k car and your has 150k then id guess closer to .5+"

that's all im saying if your car hauled lots of weight for most of its life youll see more of a rise...if your cars only had 1 person in it its whole life then id doubt the springs are that sagged that youd see much difference.

so factor everything in

well hell even 100k 97-03 springs would jack you up a bit.

a hitch is sorta a dead giveaway that the springs may be pretty sagged.

also don't forget that a fuel fillup is like shoving a passenger in the back seat usually around 120lbs or so

id find those Cg struts n run with em, probably what ya need.
