I'm looking for my next step. I want a little more ump hand reliability without just doing unnecessary mods. So should I go for speed daddy headers or u-bend delete or cat less down pipe? This is for a gtp. Will have open cone intake and probably PCM in the future. Also don't want it to sound like a bag of rice/crotch rocket.

Changing any of those components will not make any performance difference that you would be able to notice. Pulley drop is where most of the performance comes from, all replacing those components does is help the engine breath more to allow you to run a smaller pulley.

Aka headers supporting mods for more power/smaller supercharger pulley in the future

If the motors allowed to breath right how detrimental is a pulley drop to average motor life.... Also would a mod fuel rail or aftermarket injectors be needed for pulley drop?

I just read that but it still didn't really discuss if when doing a pulley drop if an ic or mod fuel rail is necessary

An IC is needed for like a 3.0 pulley

If you do a straight pipe you can run a 3.0 pulley with like 0* kr on stock manifolds, as long as you have no cats

How low can I go with just headers and PCM?

You need to reread the thread that Scotty posted throughly.

You just don't drop pullies without first having something to scan with to determine if your getting any knock.. Knock is bad... Knock equals yours piston going boom

you could drop to a 3.4 pulley with headers. no tune is needed, but it cant hurt either.

if you ic you need modded fuel rails, or fuel logs.

With a 3.4 would an ic even be beneficial?

a ic is almost always beneficial. it will also let you run a smaller pulley, then your talking tune for sure.

so if your gonna put a ic on you'll end up with a smaller pulley sooner or later.

but before any of this happens get a aeroforce gauge so you can scan your engine properly for KR. then start the pulley dropping.

Not scanning your motor is like banging a hooker unprotected and hoping your not infected. Credit for the quote goes to however said it first
