Would it be ok to run open cone air intake on my 02 gtp? Or would that allow to much flow?

Can you run open cone year round and also will it attach directly to the throttle bodies?

Alright thanks and I noticed you don't have the top cover on is that just for the pic? Mine didn't come with the cover so I didn't know if I need to buy one. Btw I'm talking about the factory plastic that says 3800 series 2

you'll see it in the stock air tube. i put mine in the elbow at about the same spot as the stock tube.

I did have it tucked into the air filter for a while. But I was advised not to do that so now it chills tucked between the throttle cables.

Ok... On a side note why is inside a no no.... I know its unrelated but in my MiniSprint which is Yamaha r1 powered I tucked it in the filter figuring it would get the true flow would it not be the same?

I was told that tucking it inside like I had could potentially skew the MAF readings .

Having it directly on the throttle body will skew maf readings.

Same with sticking it inside the air filter, it'll just get moved round in there and maybe sucked up against the maf screen.

Get a coupler before the filter, you do want some straight flowing tubing before the screen.
